Zoll is customs here. We have had two encounters with them and our mail since we have lived here. Today we received a package that we had to pay customs on. how wierd?. 7.78 Euro to accept the package from USA for some computer parts. Zoll went through the box there was a paper in it (in german of course) and a packing slip that told me why i had to pay zoll the money (maybe that is what it says-it is in german). I paid in cash the delievery man the money to get my package.
Second incident was Kris got a package from the company he works for Vykin in Florida- on the customs form that was filled out it said that it was clothes and only worth only 10$, but Vykin had also put in some personal business cards for Kris and so it didnt feel like clothes. Zoll sent Kris a letter to come to customs- when he got there they acted like he was some kind of smuggler! they asked what was in the package and of course Kris thought it was just clothes too. then they gave him 3rd degree and had him open package in front of them. Then they saw that it was just clothes and a box of business cards and appologized. Now we wonder what will be next.
So, if you send us a package to our Holzgerlingen address please make sure you tell exactly what you send for they are picky!!! silly Germans.
