Water with bubbles

We still have problems getting regular water at restaurants without bubbles-gas-carbonation. The waiters don't get you tap water like in USA, they get you bottled water, at first we would try to explain tap water is what we wanted but after strange looks and disapproval we have stopped that pursuit, now we just try to ask for water without gas-the natural kind. It is so frustrating, even when we think they understand what it was they come out with an open bottle and start pouring this carbonated water. Now, for those of you who have never tried bubble water it is GROSS. it tastes like salty bitter water. with carbonation. go out and try some then you will know our pain. our boys HATE it ... and they always get water at meals.. so our ratio of getting carbonated water is high.Daddy's great idea was to add sugar to it to see if that would help it taste better, the sugar didnt even saturate the water it stayed seperated, and did not taste any better. Kids had fun with it though.
